Kuala Lumpur offers a variety of completely different tours. Most of the walks are of course in the center, where you will be surrounded by tall skyscrapers. However, you will also find a number of natural beauties on the outskirts of the city, including the world-famous Batu Cave. If it rains, which happens almost every day in Kuala Lumpur at least for a while, it's worth visiting the local aquarium, for example.

Tour of Batu Cave

A gigantic cave on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur

Altitude: 129 m / 423 ft

On the very northern outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, you will find one of the biggest attractions in all of Malaysia – the gigantic Batu Cave. It is not only the cave itself, but also many Hindu temples including a huge statue of Murugan – the god of war. The entrance to the cave is free and there are a lot of stairs waiting for you, as well as a lot of monkeys trying to grab anything to eat or drink. continue reading

2.
Trip to KLCC Park

Park next to Petronas Tower

Altitude: 43 m / 141 ft

One of the main attractions of Kuala Lumpur is the Petronas Towers. They are followed by the pleasant KLCC park – a miniature equivalent of Central Park from NY – a park surrounded by skyscrapers. In the park itself there are several lakes, a swimming pool and in the evening there is a fountain with sound and light. continue reading

Ascent to Bukit Tabur Extra

Wilderness on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur

Altitude: 235 m / 771 ft

On the northern outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, there is a mountain ridge – Bukit Tabur, which separates the city from the jungle and from the Empangan Klang Dam. This ridge has several peaks that can be climbed with varying difficulty – from the relatively easy Bukit Tabur Extra to the challenging Bukit Tabur Extreme. Most tourists go here with a local „mountain guide“, who will also provide transport from the city center to the starting point of the route. continue reading

4.
View from The Face Platinum Suites

The most beautiful view of Kuala Lumpur

Probably the best view in all of Kuala Lumpur at the moment is the 231 meter high tower The Face Platinum Suites. Right in front of you are the skyscrapers around the famous Petronas Tower. You can also see to the north the forest surrounding the city and the new tallest skyscrapers further south. In addition, as a bonus, there is a beautiful swimming pool. Surprisingly, accommodation here is not expensive at all, so the price / performance here is absolutely great. Just don't forget that there are two towers, each with its own pool, without the possibility of walking between them. continue reading

5.
Walking along Jalan Ampang

An interesting point in the vicinity of the Petronas Twin Towers

Altitude: 36 m / 118 ft

Jalan Ampang is one of the many boulevards in Kuala Lumpur. Visitors to the city are interested in its western part, which runs near the famous Petronas Towers. Apart from them, there are also a number of other interesting buildings and places to explore. In addition, you can also eat well here. continue reading

6.
Ramayana Cave Tour

A beautiful cave right next to Batu Caves

Altitude: 57 m / 187 ft

Right next to one of Kuala Lumpur's most famous attractions – Batu Cave, there is another beautiful Ramayana cave. Surprisingly, only a fraction of visitors come here, but even this cave is amazing. Unlike Batu, where entry is free, there is a small fee. Here too, stairs to the higher parts of the cave await you. continue reading

7.
Kuala Lumpur Aquarium Tour

Aquarium KLCC

Altitude: 37 m / 121 ft

Just a stone's throw from the famous Petronas Towers – at the southern end of the pretty KLCC Park, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center is home to a beautiful aquarium. An ideal place to visit, for example, at a time when rain clouds are chasing over the city. The aquarium itself is quite large and you will find other animals here than just fish and fish. continue reading
