A beautiful cave right next to Batu Caves
Right next to one of Kuala Lumpur's most famous attractions – Batu Cave, there is another beautiful Ramayana cave. Surprisingly, only a fraction of visitors come here, but even this cave is amazing. Unlike Batu, where entry is free, there is a small fee. Here too, stairs to the higher parts of the cave await you.
At Ramayana cave
Ramayana Cave is located in the same rock massif as Batu Cave. The top of the hill is 329 meters and its base is about 60 meters above sea level, so the elevation of the limestone rocks is really high. The caves are only about 150 meters apart. A lot of monkeys live around the Ramayana cave as well
Hindu temples and statues
There are a number of Hindu statues and temples around both caves. If you want to see the temples, you have to take off your clothes and leave your shoes outside
In the cave of Ramayana
The cave literally overflows with decoration – there are hundreds of different sculptures and everything is lit up in different colors.
Waterfall in the cave
A stream flows through the cave and there is a small waterfall. It doesn't look like it in the photo, but the premises are really spectacular.
Scenes from the Ramayana
The sculptures depict various important parts of the Ramayana.
Ascent to the upper part of the cave
Now the best part awaits us, climbing the long staircase to the upper part of the cave. Looking down, even in the photo, you can finally see how huge the cave is..
Gigantic stalagmite
At the top of the cave, one of the biggest attractions is a gigantic stalagmite
Upper cave
The upper cave is also beautifully lit
The largest sculpture
We go back and stop again at the largest sculpture in the cave.
