Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein, a small principality in the Alps. The city has a population of about 5,700 and covers an area of 17.3 km². Vaduz is known for its castle, which towers over the city, and its picturesque location in the Rhine Valley.
City center
Vaduz has a historic center with narrow streets and picturesque houses. Most tourists start their tour at Rathausplatz, where the town hall and several restaurants and cafes are located.

Vaduz Castle
Vaduz Castle is the dominant landmark of the city and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. It is also the most important monument of the city. The castle was first mentioned in 1322 and after a series of renovations has 130 rooms. Since 1938 it has served as the residence of the prince and is closed to the public. But even a tour from the outside is interesting.
