If you are spending your holiday on the island of Ko Lipe, it is definitely worth going on this half-day trip to the jungle-covered and minimally polluted island of Ko Adang. Getting here is very easy – just arrange a water taxi at Sunrise Beach and you can find yourself in a completely different world in no time.

Only about 1.5 km apart lie two completely different worlds – Ko Lipe Island is small, flat, full of beaches and tourists, largely built up. In contrast, Ko Adang is large (roughly 15 times larger than Ko Lipe), more mountainous, and has only one resort and one official campsite. It is also one of the bases of Tarutao National Park. After you get off the boat, take a swim and relax on the beach at the resort. The western end is better, where there are photogenic rocks. There is also an entrance to the jungle.
After swimming, follow the marked trail to the waterfall, where you can also swim in the pond below. Then take the second trail along the coast to the main beach.

Hike to the Pirate Waterfall
There are two marked hiking trails on the island of Ko Adang – one is the ascent to the top of Chado Cliff (the so-called viewpoint) and the other is the Jungle Trail to the Pirate Waterfall. The road leads undisturbed through the jungle, where the only rise to civilization are the hoses running along the trail (they take water from the stream) for the only local resort. After your journey through the jungle, you will definitely enjoy swimming on the main beach here. There is a photogenic sandbar. Behind it, the beach goes on and on, completely devoid of people. Within the buildings belonging to the national park, there is also a small snack bar where you can buy classic Thai food. From here, you can also go to the cliff with a view.

On the island of Ko Adang, only two beaches on its southern edge are basically well accessible. The largest of them is located on its southeastern tip, right next to the national park visitor center or a small campsite. The beach is really vast and there are usually only a minimum of people here.
