On the island of Ko Adang, only two beaches on its southern edge are basically well accessible. The largest of them is located on its southeastern tip, right next to the national park visitor center or a small campsite. The beach is really vast and there are usually only a minimum of people here. In addition, they usually only move in the vicinity of the visitor center, so you can have hundreds of meters of beach all to yourself.

Pier at Ko Adang

The starting point of the trip to Ko Adang is the pier where a boat taxi will bring you from the nearby island of Ko Lipe. From here you can go to both sides of the beach or inland on hiking trails.

Sand spit on Ko Adang

The most photogenic place here is the sand spit, where there are also the most tourists, but it is still pleasantly deserted compared to the opposite Ko Lipe.

View of Chado cliff

From the sand spit, you can also see one of the few places on the island where there is no jungle – the Chado cliff. One of the three local hiking trails leads to it – the Chado Cliff Trail. There are three viewpoints along the way.

Harmless large purple jellyfish

In the sea and on the beach, there are quite a few large light purple saucer jellyfish, but luckily they don't sting

Across the sea, you can also see Ko Lipe on the „pancake“.

The endless beach at Ko Adang

Then there is an endless beach surrounded by jungle, if it weren't for the plastic thrown here and there on the sand, you feel like you are somewhere in the wilderness.

Camping in Thailand

On the way back, you can also visit the local small tent camp. Everything is in the shade of mature conifers. Further inland, there are facilities including a restaurant, so you are not so cut off from the world.

West part of Ko Adang beach

From the pier, we can also go west, where the beach has the character of a small bay.

West Beach

Swimming at Ko Adang will be appreciated mainly by those who like peace and not the tourist masses

End of the beach

The end of the beach is quite photogenic. Rocks and jungle almost to the water.

Retrospect

For those who spend part of their Thai vacation on Ko Lipe, we can definitely recommend a trip to Ko Adang – two deserted beaches + the possibility of short hikes inland.
