They been there:

Preikestolen is one of those parts of Norway that you just have to see. It is a rock plateau, which in Czech is called the Pulpit. It is located about 30 km east of Stavanger. It rises to a height of 604 meters above the Lysefjord

Day 17

Preikestolen - Pulpit

We wake up in the Preikestolen campsite and go a little further to the parking lot under the pulpit. We will be surprised by the price of 200Kr and thus another increase, because the price of 100Kr is listed on the Internet. Never mind, nothing will stop us. We're leaving! The road is supposedly challenging, for about 4 km the total elevation is 334 m, which is divided into about 3 very steep stages, but between them you go alternately up and down, so you actually climb much more. This is also why it is claimed that the journey there and back takes approximately 3–4 hours. He wants to take proper shoes, because the road is said to be a stone. For us, it's a walk in the rose garden! The one who went out to Trolltung can't say this trip is challenging. We have beautiful weather and the road is nicely maintained, huge stones are arranged here on the stairs, so it goes beautifully. Only the amount of people might bother someone, especially the Japanese, who may appear everywhere. After about an hour and a half we arrive at that place. It's so beautiful and dangerous here. We sit on a granite plateau 604 m above the level of the fjord, no railings, no barriers and safety restrictions. It is another of our most beautiful experiences. The wind is really big here and it doesn't discourage even fools who balance on the whole edge with various jumps and handstands, so that they have the most beautiful photo. We sit for a while and watch the beauty from a distance, even though a lot of people… and imagine that if we went on a weekend! The way down was smooth and so we can go back to the camp Preikestolen. Along the way, we shop in the Kiwi store and we also manage to get reindeer meat in the freezer. We wanted to taste the meat somewhere in a restaurant, but we were surprised at how difficult it is to get such a restaurant. The fast here is mainly fast food, typically Norwegian cuisine is slowly but surely disappearing … Reindeer meat has a deep red color and is tender and supple. It has an interesting taste and is also very healthy. Helps lower cholesterol. Overall, reindeer meat is of high quality. However, the price of this meat is relatively high. We paid 99Nok for 400g of meat. I decided to prepare it for us in the popular Norwegian way, with cream, I don't just cook potatoes as a side dish, but gnocchi. I have to say that it was great and I personally tasted much more than the moose. We tasted it in the way they like to prepare it in Norway, ground in a meatball, where the side dish is vegetables. But I've already turned from the Pulpit to the kitchen. :-)
