Hike through Stará Hrada

After completing the stairs, another ascent through a nice oak forest awaits you

A well-known attraction of this tour is the three-storey staircase, evoking a bit of ascents in the Slovak Paradise.

Finally, the perfect view from the former fortified settlement of Stará Hrada is approaching. However, one more staircase awaits you.

There is a really wide view from the viewpoint of the Old Castle. The nearest view is across the valley to another part of the Příhrazské bees with the famous Kobylí hlava rock

To the east you can see the dominants of the Bohemian Paradise such as Trosky and Vyskeř. The horizon is closed by the top of Tábor.

To the northeast lies Všeň, well recognizable by its huge church. Všeň is also a starting point for the ruins of the rock castle Kozlov (Chlum)

To the north, deep below you, is the Jizera Valley with a large Žabakor pond and a lizard on the horizon.

The path continues almost to the tops of the rocks and that adds to its interest.

In places where a possible fall would mean certain death, you may be surprised by the railing, which is on the side of the rock.

After about 45–60 minutes you will reach an important crossroads – Na Krásné vyhlídce. There is a snack and a lot of bustle, because from here you set off to the local main attraction – Drábské světničky. From here you can return to Příhraz following the blue tourist sign.
