The hike from Krásná vyhlídka through Drábské světničky and Klamorna is one of the most visited parts of the Příhrazské rocks. In addition, you will walk through the interesting Cold Passage and you will have interesting views to the north to Ještěd.

View of Žabakor

This tour starts at the inn on Krásná vyhlídka. There is a parking lot, but it is often crowded. You could also walk here from „Příhraz“: https: //www.gigaplaces.com/clanek-tura-pres-stara-hrada. From the edge of the rock massif there is a wide view to the north. In the foreground is a huge pond Žabakor.

Descent to the Cold Passage

The road from Krásná vyhlídka leads for a while along the edge of the massif and then descends through the gorge to the beautiful Cold Passage. You will rarely go alone in this passage, it is the busiest part of the Příhrazské rocks. Children will enjoy the nice nature trail.

At the Cold Passage

After a while, you will descend through a rocky valley to the famous Cold Passage

Cold passage

One of the biggest attractions of this tour is the more than 120 meters long gorge Studený průchhod. Thanks to the fact that the light practically has no way to get to the bottom of this super narrow gorge, there is always cold even in the hottest years.

Climbing rocks

From the Cold Passage, the path rises again. After a while, a crossroads awaits you. Be sure to continue to Drábské světnička along a slightly longer red route with views than the blue one. It is suitable for families with small children – you will not be afraid that they will fall off a rock.

Sightseeing tour

Finally you are on the edge of the massif and a route about 300 meters long with beautiful views awaits you. Here it pays to slow down and enjoy.

Tights on a rock

Be really careful when moving on the edge of the rock – needles glide and trip over the root is also not a rare event.

View of the Jizera valley

The wide Jizera valley can also be seen from the viewpoints, but where the D10 motorway from Prague to Liberec dominates more than the river itself. The Jizera Mountains and Ještěd can be seen on the horizon

The best prospects

The best views of the region are just before Drábské světničky.

At Drábské světničky

After a half hour walk you are at the biggest attraction of this tour at „Drábské světničky“: https: //www.gigaplaces.com/clanek-prohlidka-drabskych-svetnicek/. After their tour, continue along the red road in the direction of Klamorna and Valečov. After a narrow staircase, you ascend to a rock opposite the rooms. Here the crowds of tourists are significantly smaller.

Meadows overlooking the Male

The path unexpectedly takes you to picturesque meadows overlooking the volcanic hill Mužský

Klamorna

When you walk to the turn to the rock castle Klamorna. Be sure to go there. Another great place on a rocky promontory. If you want to be at the best viewpoint you will have to jump from rock to rock – slightly adventurous

Rock plateau

There are only a few tourists in Klamorna compared to Drábské světničky. You can relax here in peace and enjoy the beautiful views.

In addition to the views, there are also rock caves and a nice well dug in the rock.

Road to Valečov

From Klamorna you will find a quite long descent to the bottom of the valley and then a less interesting path through the forest to the Skalka crossroads. From here it is a short walk to Valečov (by road), if you make a large circuit through the rocks. Or back to the Beautiful Viewpoint along Male Hill if you're doing a half circuit.

Drábské světničky jsou moje srdcovka, byla jsem tam poprvé asi v 7 letech a od té doby ještě mnohokrát :-)
