A trip to the region of Drábské světničky
At the western end of the Bohemian Paradise you will find a very picturesque rock town – Příhrazské skály. It is famous mainly for the interesting rock castle of Drábská světnička. However, there is much more to see: Valečov Castle, the Mužský lookout hill and a nice path along the top of the rock town through Stará Hrada. If you want to see everything here during one trip, count on one long day.
From Valečov to Příhraz
1st stage of the trip
One of the ideal starting points to the Příhrazské rocks is a parking lot at the ruins of the Valečov castle. After a tour of it, head to Příhraz over the mysterious sacrificial stone and the Hynšta prayer house.

Rock castle and rooms
One of the most interesting places to visit in Příhrazské skaly is the ruins of the rock castle Valečov. Apart from a nice castle with lots of tunnels in the rock massif and nice views to the south in the direction of Mnichovo Hradiště, you can experience a small adventure while exploring the surrounding rock rooms, so typical of the Bohemian Paradise. Hike through the mysterious places of the Příhrazské rocks
The hike from Valečov over the mysterious sacrificial stone, the Hynšta prayer house to the beautiful views of the edge of the Příhrazské rocks is significantly less walked than, for example, the surroundings of Drábské světničky. Still, it has a lot to offer. This route is mostly used by tourists doing longer circuits through the Příhrazské rocks. This part from Valečov to Příhraz is about 8 km long. continue reading

Go back through Stará Hrada, the mysterious Cold Passage and especially through the famous Drábské světničky. The smaller rock castle Klamorna is also interesting.

The transition between Příhrazy and Na Krásné vyhlídce is definitely one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Příhrazské skály. The view from the former Stará Hrada fortified settlement is really very beautiful.
