Hike over Kotelské sedlo
The road from Dvoračky to the crossroads U Růženčiny zahrádky is of course not a full-fledged hike, it is a connection leading through Kotelské sedlo to the alpine meadows of the Krkonoše Mountains, lying between the Silesian and Bohemian ridges. You will enjoy the nice views and you will pass several asparagus from the First Republic fortifications
Ascent to Kotelský sedlo
You will walk through the forest from Dvoračky for a while, but after a few minutes of climbing you will finally have a nice view of Kotel (1,435 m above sea level).
View of the region
The view to the south is to the very forested Kozelský ridge and to the valley of the Kotelský stream leading to Dolní Mísečky
Retrospect
The road itself is relatively wide, but on nice days also very busy.
Boiler saddle
You will have the main ascent behind you in Kotelský sedlo. A well-trodden path leads to Lysá hora (1,344 m above sea level). However, it is officially forbidden to walk here
Řopíci
Directly above you in the Kotle massif is one of a number of asparagus that you will meet on this tour
View of the Jizera Mountains
Not far from Kotelský sedlo there is a wide view of the Western Giant Mountains and the Jizera Mountains. Above the flat ridge rises the last significant mountain of the Giant Mountains Szrenica
View of the Silesian ridge
The road turns around Kotle and after a while the views of the main Krkonoše ridge – the Silesian ridge – open up.
View of Harrachovy kameny
We are slowly approaching the crossroads and in front of us are Harrachovy kameny (1,421 m above sea level) on the horizon – offering other beautiful views
Crossroads U Růženčiny zahrádky
After about half an hour of ascent, you are at the crossroads of U Růženčiny zahrádky. From here you can continue for example to the Elbe Spring and further to the ridge or to Harrachovy kameny and Vrbatova bouda
