Kotel (1 435 m asl) – the tenth highest mountain in the Czech Republic and the eighth highest in the Giant Mountains is very recognizable peak from all outlook points in the foothills of Giant Mountains and the Bohemian Paradise thanks from its vast, glacier-formed cirques on its south side (Velká a Malá Kotelní jáma – „Large and Small Boilers pit“). But from the other side – from Vrbatovo návrší („Vrbata hillock“) it looks more like a upland plain, which ends with a huge wall. There is no tourist route leading to the very flat top, only a footpath.
