The tour through the Labský dol is one of the most famous and romantic tours in the Giant Mountains. Moreover, the very journey through this canyon of the river Elbe is relatively easy, except for the final ascent to the Elbe hut. In addition, you will come across beautiful waterfalls such as the beautiful Little Elbe Waterfall and the highest waterfall in the Czech Republic – Pančavský. Just before the end of the route, the third interesting waterfall awaits you – Labský.

Romantic Elbe

The hike through Labský dol begins in Špindlerův Mlýn, or if you want to shorten it a bit (approx. 1 km), then to the car park by the cable car to Medvědín. Just a short walk from the cable car station, the river has nice romantic passages with rocks.

Elbe weirs

From Špindlerův Mlýn you will see a number of weirs on the Elbe. However, the largest one is not far from the U Dívčí lávky crossroads.

Řopík pod Dívčí strání

Even on this tour, you can see part of the First Republic fortifications – a light object řopík. It stands just a short distance from the U Dívčí lávky crossroads. From there we turn left to Labské dol. Even on the right side, however, there is a very beautiful path – „Hike through the valley of the White Elbe“: https: //www.gigaplaces.com/clanek-tura-udolim-bileho-labe/

Small Elbe waterfall

The path still climbs comfortably along the Elbe to the first real attraction on this hike – the Little Elbe Waterfall. Its height is about 5 meters. It is watery all year round.

Stone plates

Just a short distance above the Little Elbe Waterfall are nice stone slabs. An ideal place for a break.

Pudlava

At Pudlava, a predatory river, interesting especially in early spring, when it has the most water, a comfortable asthaltka ends. There is also a ban on bicycles and a classic mountain path. Families with small children usually turn around here.

From Pudlava, the right path begins through the Labský dol. The surrounding walls of the canyon exceed you by more than 400 meters.

Rock fortress

Mighty rocks rise above the Elbe Mine like some rock fortresses.

View of the Pančava waterfall

One of the best awaits you on this tour – the view of the highest waterfall in the Czech Republic. Pančava Waterfall is 148 meters high. In order to really enjoy it, take this tour early in the spring, when the snow melts and there is always a lot of water in it.

View of Labská bouda

From the road you can already see the destination of this tour – Labská bouda. It rises almost on the edge of the canyon, so this view will assure you that the conclusion will be the most challenging.

Meanders of the Elbe in the Elbe mine

Unlike the steep walls, the bottom of the canyon in these places is very flat and otherwise in the Giant Mountains the Elbe, which flows wildly, even meanders here in several arches.

Viewpoint at the gorge

You can relax after half of the final ascent to the Elbe hut at the view of the Elbe gorge below the Elbe waterfall. There is also a table, but unfortunately there are also tourists. It is the most beautiful here at the end of spring, when you will come across remnants of snow.

The last meters in front of the Elbe hut

Just before the end of the tour you can still enjoy the beauty of the Krkonoše Mountains.

Above the Elbe waterfall

As the last optional walk, run from Labská bouda to the view of the Elbe waterfall. The only downside is that you only look at it from above.
