Ascent to Monte Cinto

We start from the Lozzi campsite 1040 m above sea level. A challenging all-day hike awaits us with a total elevation gain of almost 1700 m above sea level. After visiting the top of Monte Cinto 2706 m above sea level, we take a sightseeing tour and so on we continue to the lake Lac du Cinto and from there we descend back to the camp Lozzi. The whole tour took us 12 hours, but I believe that more capable individuals can handle it faster :-)

In the evening we set up tents at the Lozzi camp, where our ascent will begin.

The beginning of the ascent is after a fairly wide road to which a car would pass … in the photo on the right

..the ascent begins with the first rays of the morning and from the wide path we reach a small climb along a grassy meadow …

..whoing for us for the whole day .. we leave the camp at 5:00 in the morning..the sun will not wait long …

..we reconnect to a wide path .. we pass cows already grazing on the slopes …

.. the first point is a wooden „shed“ where the cows from the pasture have a shelter and it is the last place where you can drive ..

the first longer break was at the cottage „Erco – 1650“, where there is a washroom and sanitary facilities .. there is probably the possibility of accommodation, but during our exit the cottage was closed … in the photo we are already climbing further from the cottage Erco. the ascent path begins, which is led in the rubble and further on the cypress …

..after a long time of climbing in the rubble we get to the first rocks, where sometimes we have to help ourselves with our hands and then the hike is much more interesting for nice views …

..before the top there is a place to rest .. it should be noted that there are almost no markings on the way, the orientation is perhaps only possible according to the little stone men, who sometimes appear …

from the top we set off on the way back around Lac du Cinto, it's a very beautiful place, but the way to it seems quite challenging to me, the weather wishes us, I feel that it is at least 40 degrees …

.. the head covering is important, otherwise the sun would burn us ..
