Along the sea and sand dunes

The fourth stage of the trip along the southern coast of Boa Vista is a ride along the Praia do Curralinho beach, surrounded by beautiful dunes, giving the feeling as if you were somewhere in the middle of the Sahara. The mountains in the background add to the atmosphere. This is the part where you will really enjoy off-road driving like on the Dakar Rally. This is followed by a ride along the longest beach in all of Boa Vista – Praia de Santa Mónica, which is protected, so there is no construction here (apart from the ghost area at its very eastern end).
Retrospect
We leave Praia da Varandinha with its rock formations and head towards Praia do Curralinho along a sandy track (the photo is proof that going here with a regular rental car is stupid).

Curralinho Beach
We arrive at Praia do Curralinho, another long sandy beach, without a single building in the vicinity.

Desert scenery
In my opinion, one of the most beautiful views of the entire trip are the dunes rising from the desert volcanic landscape right here at Curralinho Beach.

Driving along the dunes
The ride along the dunes is about 1 kilometer long and if you were here with your own car, it would definitely be worth climbing and exploring the dunes more.

Desert driving
It really feels like the Dakar Rally. A desolate landscape without a single sign of life – apart from the tourist cars of course

Santa Monica Beach
Now we are on our way along the „endless“ Praia de Santa Mónica. According to some sources, it is up to 11 kilometers long, which is truly unique.

Driving along Santa Monica Beach
We continue along the beach to the swimming stop, which is at its very eastern end.
