Return from Santa Monica Beach
End of the offroad trip around Boa Vista
After swimming at Santa Monica beach, all we have to do is return to the hotel. It's about 20 kilometers with views of the desolate interior with one of the highest local hills – Santo Antonio (379m).
Sparse vegetation at the beach
We return for a while along the same path before turning into the seasonal riverbed. This is where we climb up to the main road. At this endless beach, you can see interestingly colored sparse vegetation.
The interior of the island
Boa Vista, a swimming paradise with endless sandy beaches, is an otherwise desolate volcanic island
Asphalt road
We connect to the only local main road connecting the town of Sal Rei with the Riu Touareg hotel – which is almost 30 km – basically the only north / south connection of the island
Mountain Santo Antonio
From the road there are nice views of the second highest mountain on the island of Santo Antonio. On a flat hill stands a rock like a small castle
The way back
Riding in the back of the car on the coastal road was much better than sitting inside. On the road at higher speeds it is quite uncomfortable.
