The Jizera Mountains are the northernmost mountains in the Czech Republic. Its highest peak is the mountain Smrk 1124 m above sea level Jizerky, as this mountain is nicknamed, are characterized by their aligned peaks on which there are granite rocks. In recent times, the Jizera Mountains have not had an easy thanks to industry in the 70–80. Extensive clearings have been created in this area over the years. Today, after this catastrophe, there are almost no monuments. They are a great destination for tourists and cyclists.

Across the Jizera Mountains

Circuit in the Jizera Mountains

Our circuit started in Bedřichov and the route is around 60 km long, which can be done in 2–4 days according to everyone's options. From Bedřichov we set off along the yellow road to the picturesque Královka lookout tower, from where there is a beautiful view of the surroundings. Nearby is the Presidential Cottage, where he cooks well. Or continue in the direction of the Glass Village Kristiánov, where along the way we come across Šámal's cottage, which is famous for its gastronomy. Then it continues through the mentioned village at the crossroads, where we look at the Na Čihadle peat bog. From here, it is a short walk to the Na Knejpě kiosk, where snacks stab after the summit. From here we head in the direction of Smědava. But we could not miss the 2nd highest peak of the Jizera Mountains on the Czech side, the Jizera. The trip reminded me a lot of the Tatras. At the top there are again beautiful views and there is also a shelter where you can sleep. But we continue to Smědava at the crossroads of the Jizera Mountains and people are really blown away here. Once again, let yourself be refreshed and eaten here. From here we head to Polední kameny and Frýdlantské cimbuří. Once again, it is a picturesque landscape and here you will come across probably one of the most beautiful places in the Jizera Mountains. Breathtaking views and rocks. Below them are also two beautiful waterfalls. Noon and Black Waterfall. Now we have a trip to Hejnice, where we can get refreshments for a reasonable price. In the Jizera Mountains, an alpine surcharge must be taken into account. From here there are two options to go to Smrk or back to Smědava. Due to time constraints, Smrk did not want us, so we visited Smědava again and from there we moved to Hřebenovka, where we again came to the Černá Jezírka peat bog and then to Pytlácké kameny and Jelení stráň. Another snack was waiting for us at Jizerka, where there are really many of them. From here we went to the Ruptured Dam, where an accident occurred in 1916 and again is the Cozy. The last visit was the Na Jedlové waterfalls. The hike ended up in Josefov's mine.
