Hurricanes: hurricanes are not a common danger in the High Tatras. Relatively recently (November 19, 2004), however, a huge storm swept through this part of Slovakia, which changed this region forever. Tens of thousands of spruces fell as the element raged. On the other hand, it opened up views of the mountains and the foothill villages and remembered ancient times, when there was actually no forest, only mountain meadows.
