The French-speaking town, surrounded on all sides by hills with terraced vineyards, rising from the Rhone Valley is simply enchanting. From the two rocky peaks, the town is guarded by a pair of 13th-century castles, the Château de Tourbillon and the Château de Valére, with a fortified basilica inside which are the oldest functioning church organs in the world.
