Monastery high on the rock
Simonopetra Monastery is perched in the rocks high in the mountains above the sea (330 meters). It means Simon's Rock. The name really doesn't lie. The monastery was founded in the 13th century. It is located relatively close to the port of Dafni – the entry point to the monastic state.
