To the south of Munich you will find several interesting lakes. One of the most beautiful of them is Lake Walchensee, which is proud to be one of the deepest (up to 190 meters deep) and largest lakes in Bavaria, or in the whole of Germany. Around the lake are the low peaks of the Bavarian Prealps. There is a cycle path (25.5 km) around the entire lake – ideal for a day trip.
