The Rofan Mountains are a really small mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps. We find it east of the beautiful Lake Achensee. Its highest peak is Hochiss (2,299 m above sea level). Most hiking trails start at the terminus of the Rofan Seilbahn cable car, which takes you to a height of 1,840 meters above sea level. In the vicinity of the cable car there are also the most mountain huts within this mountain range
