The best starting point for Lake Achensee
Pertisau is a small town on the western side of the beautiful Achensee lake. It is the best starting point for hikes in the northwestern part of the Karwendel Mountains. Here you can walk along the waterfront, go on a boat trip or swim in the lake. Take the cable car to the Zwölferkopf hill (1491 m) or discover the beautiful mountain valleys of Falzturntal and Gerntal

A blind road leads to Pertisau on the western side of Lake Achensee, which can be reached from the B181 road connecting Germany with the Inn Valley around Achensee. Along the road there are plenty of parking spaces (paid) from where you can take a walk to the lake. Above the eastern end rises a small limestone mountain range Rofen

There are also several places where you can comfortably get to the lake and bathe. Some are ladders straight to the depth, some are small beaches

On the southern outskirts of the city rises the low hill Zwölferkopf (1491 m). The Karwendel Bergbahn cable car leads to it. There are nice views of the lake from the top. From here you can take a nice hike to the Bärenkopf scenic mountain (1991 m)

In Pertisau you can rent a pedal boat, paddleboard, or go on a boat trip to, for example, Gasthaus Gaisalm. Or just stroll along the waterfront and enjoy

You can also have a snack right on the lake. Hotels here also have platforms for their guests, where a swimming pool is also needed

From Pertisau, the Nostalgic bus line goes to the Gramaialm mountain farm, from where you can comfortably get back on foot – about 2 hours walk
