Concepción Volcano is one of two volcanoes that together form the island of Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua. With its 1610 m Concepción is higher than Maderas (1394 m), and much more impressive. Its perfect cone is a bit furrowed in the southwest by constant landslides. The volcano is still active, yet you can climb to the edge of the crater.
