Mountains

Petr Liška Wrote 10.02.2014:

Uganda is one of the countries that are perfect for animal lovers. There are several excellent national parks:

  • Queen Elizabeth NP: most frequently visited national park in Uganda. Sailing between hippos, buffaloes, elephants, lots of birds
  • Bwindi Impenetrable Forrest: trips to see mountain gorillas, but very expensive, only a permit costs min. 500 USD
  • Murchison NP: situated in the northwest of the country near Lake Albert. There are beautiful waterfalls and beneath them thousands of hippos and many crocodiles
  • Kyambura Gorge: deep canyon with a river and lush vegetation. Trek through the jungle among the animals. Abundance of monkeys, possible to observe chimpanzees. Original jungle of tropical forest with lianas, plate roots.
  • Budongo Forrest: easy to see chimpanzees. It is also the largest mahogany forest in east Africa
  • Kibale NP: located near Fort Portal and people come here to observe chimpanzees
  • Lake Mburo NP: possible to see hippos and zebras
