If you want to visit the interesting Ugandan National Park Semuliky, the ideal starting point is the town of Fort Portal (1,650 m above sea level). It is about 50 kilometers on an unpaved road to the jungle plain. The road to the park itself is nice thanks to overcoming the northern end of the famous Ruwenzori Mountains

Downhill to the lowland via Buranga Pass

From Fort Portal, a shared van national park runs towards. Just wait until it fills up and you can go. The road is becoming more interesting in places where it crosses the Buranga Pass (1,180 m) and the road begins to descend to the lowlands. The surrounding hills are practically totally deforested with fields and meadows.

Watusi Horned Cattle

Along the way, shepherds with African horned Watusi cattle, or Vahum cattle, can be seen. The animals have really respectable horns

Forage harvesters

Along the way you will also meet a number of green forage pickers for cattle

Waterfalls by the road

Count on weather change compared to Fort Portal. There is a pleasant 25 degrees and relatively dry air. Here, with decreasing meters, stuffy and temperature increase. You will also find small waterfalls on the edges of the road

Agricultural dwellings

Farmhouses are really simple, they are pleased that they are not like most of Uganda made of corrugated iron

Fields on steep slopes

Fields on steep slopes are fascinating, which unfortunately contributes to erosion. You can really only find trees in ravines and otherwise hard-to-reach places

View of the lowland forest

Finally, the beautiful view of the lowland tropical forest, which falls under the protection of the Semuliky National Park, will open up here. We see the bends of the river, behind which the Republic of Congo is already
