This road starts in Shanghai and just before Tingri Dzong reaches the famous 5000 km G109: From Golmud to Lhasa. This route is now overshadowed by a railway following a similar route. G219: A beautiful route through all of southern Tibet from east to west. Unfortunately, due to permit issues, there's still little chance that you'll run through it.
