There are hotels in every major city, mostly of the middle category ***. Luxury and international hotel chains are located only in Prague and some in regional cities. Even in the villages around interesting visitor destinations there are often small guesthouses.

You can find most mountain huts mainly in the Giant Mountains, but also in other Czech and Moravian mountains. Today, it offers essentially the same services as lowland hotels.

Camping is very popular. Near almost every body of water there is a camp, where it is possible to stay in cottages, your own trailer or in a tent.

Classic treks with a tent are basically not common in the Czech Republic and outside the official places it is not even allowed. However, there is a great tramp tradition of sleeping under the canopy, especially in rock towns such as Kokořínsko or Český ráj.

Private accommodation is common mainly in tourist areas. You will know it best by the sign „zimmer frei“ originally associated mainly with German tourists.
