Trip to Damatria beach

On the first road climb to the mountains on the airport – Pigadia route, you will come across a marked turn to Damatria beach. From here you descend directly to the sea. The view from the cliff to the beach is really beautiful.

The beach itself is relatively long, but narrow – rocky sandy overlooking the small island of Mira. It is 750 meters away from the coast, so only possibly after a very good swimmer.

A small cliff rises directly above the beach and behind it there is a view of the mountains on the horizon.

To the south you can go for a relatively interesting walk along the rocky coast.

After a while, you will come across a footpath that climbs up to a new building on a rocky promontory. The views are better with every meter.

After you go around the newly built villa, you can climb some lookout rocks.

On the highest of them, there is even something like a top bollard.

From the top you can see the flat part of the island of Karpathos, including the beautiful beach Christou Pigadi.

From the top you can see the famous Vatha beach, which is popular especially with surfers. The rock that ends at Karpathos is completely visible on the horizon.
