Trip to Diakoftis beach

Diakoftis beach is located in the very south of the island of Karpathos. They are actually two beaches along a small sandy peninsula. Interestingly, this beach is located right next to the airport, so you can enjoy landing planes from really close. Of course, it's not as rough as on the famous Maho beach on the island of St. Martin, but it's still a pretty big experience.

Diakoftis beach, as only one of the few known beaches on the island of Karpathos, has access only on a gravel road – about 3.5 km you have to drive along the fence around the airport. before you get to this fabulous bay.

A short distance from the beach is an area that serves as a parking lot, which fills up relatively quickly from the morning and is a rather oversized building that serves as a snack bar. However, it is far from classic style taverns.
The second beach at Diakoftis
Just walk about 100 meters and you are on the other side of the peninsula, where there is a slightly less visited beach. From here there is a better view of the landing planes.

Landing planes are really just a short distance from you. however, the traffic here is not very heavy, so in half a day you will see 2–3 planes.
