The Císařův kámen observation tower is one of the best viewpoints in the whole of Liberec. The observation tower stands on the hill of the same name at the very end of the Jizera Mountains. From the observation tower there is a wonderful view directly into the Liberecká basin and the surrounding hills. The walk itself from the village of Milíře is only a little more than half a kilometer, so even small children can do it. Entrance to the lookout tower is free.

A miler

The start of the walk is in Milíře, where you can find a few parking spaces. In Milířy itself there is a small chapel, a nice children's playground and a little further on there is a monument to the victims of the Prussian-Austrian war

Picturesque building along the way

From Milíře we follow the green tourist route. On the edge of the village, we pass a nice building. Then we are slowly approaching the local cemetery.

Mile Cemetery

The first interesting stop on this walk is the Milíře cemetery. There are several interesting tombstones and also a view of Jablonec nad Nisou. Next to the cemetery is the stone circle of Milíre

German tombstone

It can be seen that we are in the so-called Sudetenland – an area that was heavily populated by Germans before the Second World War.

The Emperor's Stone Lookout Tower

From the cemetery, it is only a few tens of meters through the forest on a gradual ascent to this beautiful lookout tower. The height of the building is approx. 23 meters

Exit to the lookout tower

Now we have to climb 112 steps up. Some may find it difficult to see through the perforated stairs.
