The main and only town of the beautiful island

The picturesque town of Skiathos (Skiathos Town) is the main and only town on the island.
This small town (population 5,500) combines traditional Greek architecture with a modern lifestyle and is a popular tourist destination thanks to its international airport. It's a pleasant place with quiet narrow streets, a lively harbor promenade and some beautiful viewpoints.
Port
The city has the only port on the entire island. There is a lively traffic of ferries that provide connections with the surrounding islands. In addition, numerous cruise ships and fishing boats are moored here.

Greek houses and streets
The center of the old town is crossed by narrow cobbled streets, along which stand traditional white houses decorated with flowers. The narrow streets invite you to take pleasant, romantic walks.


Narrow streets in the hill
The town is built cascadingly on the slope, the houses are piled on top of each other. Narrow streets lead to the steep slope. In them, the cargo is sometimes transported by horses.

Isle of Bourtzi
A popular spot is the small islet with the Bourtzi fortress, which divides the Skiathos port into the old and new parts. There is a view of the harbor and a visit to the maritime museum, which is housed in the local former fort.
