Skopelos is a small island (96 km²) in the Sporades archipelago in the Aegean Sea about 130 km north of Athens. It is a beautiful mountainous island with dense forest.
On Skopelos there are many beautiful beaches stretching along the crystal blue sea. Nevertheless, it is much less frequented by tourists than neighboring Skiathos.
The world-famous movie Mamma Mia! was filmed on the island. with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan.
