Trip to Semily

Although Semily is the smallest district town in the Czech Republic, they still offer several attractions to see and visit. But mainly it is a good starting point for hikes along the Jizera. Let's see what can be seen here
Rieger Square in Semily
The historic center of Semily is located east of the river Jizera. We can start our tour of the city, for example, on Rieger Square, which is the most famous native of Semily

Municipal house in Semily
Along the road No. 289 we slowly climb around the most beautiful building in the city – the Municipal House in the Art Nouveau style.

Church of St. Peter and Paul
We continue to the largest landmark of Semily – the church of St. Peter and Paul

Comenius Square in Semily
We ascend to Comenius Square, where there is the Marian Column and a nice view of the church tower. This basically got us to the edge of the city center and we can go back another way.

Log cabins in Jílovecká street
We will continue towards the city cemetery to Jílovecká Street, where timbered buildings have been preserved

Bridge over the Jizera
From the log cabins we head about 600 meters back to the bridge over the Jizera. We leave the historic center of Semily and head to the relaxation zone along the Jizera

Semily Castle
On the edge of the relaxation zone there is also the Semily chateau, which today only serves as an administrative building.

Footbridge over the Jizera
The northern part of the relaxation zone is connected to the rest of the city by an interesting footbridge. From here you can continue on the famous Rieger Trail
