View of the valley

In the Aït Bouguemez Valley, also known as Happy Valley, there are a number of ruins and castles. Each of them serves as a beautiful viewpoint over the beautiful valley. The most easily accessible is the one located right in the village of Aït Bouguemez. Not much remains of the castle here, but the view
Starting point of the walk
The starting point of the walk is roughly in the center of the village. Leave the car at the cyanobacteria and head up the steep dirt road straight up, see GPS coordinates. The village itself is a classic Moroccan mountain settlement with a predominance of classic old houses.

Above the village
From the last houses, only a path leading zigzag to the ruins begins. The views slowly begin to open up.

At the ruins
After a while we climb to a place that is like a small pass and we have views in all directions. The ruin is right in front of us on the yellow rocks.

View of the valley
Directly below us is the eastern end of the village and a beautifully green valley

View of the Agadir Sidi Chems ruins
Further on the horizon, you can see another, larger ruin of Agadir Sidi Chems, which is also worth a visit (and is also non-touristy)

View of the road to Arrousse
From the ruins you can also see the dusty road to the village of Arrousse – the starting point for the trek to the four-thousander M'Goun (4,068m)

Ruin
The ruin itself is just the remains of a wall on the highest rock – but it adds to the photogenic nature of this place.

Rock climbing
Those who are not afraid can climb the rocks in various ways and look for new views. Return along the same route or alternatively along other paths towards the road.
