Through the valley of river Dades
Less than one hundred kilometer between Ouarzazate and M'Gouna leads through, in these places still wide, valley of river Dades surrounded on both sides by two thousand high mountain massifs. Huge lake right behind Ourazazate contrasts to the arid desert landscape. M'Gouna – the destination of this stage is a good starting point to interesting Moroccan gorge Dades.
Barrage el Mansour Ed-Dahbi
After fifteen kilometers away through the desert gets the road N10 the closest to dam Mansour Ed-Dahbi, into which flow rivers Dades and Ouarzazate and river Draa (the longest river in Morocco) already flows out. The trip to see the damp itself and its surroundings will take at least half a day.
Stony desert
The road leads mostly away from the river on arid upland plains.
Interesting rocks before M'Gouna
Once you pass a small oasis of Skoura with a kasbah you get through another desert plain to the interesting oasis M'Gouna. Right at the beginning you encounter photogenic hill with scattered boulders.
Oasis of river Dades
N10 road leads along the western edge of the vast oasis of river Dades in front of the town M'Gouna. Just stop at any convenient place, ascend a few meters to a rocky sill above the river and you have a wide stunning view across the entire oasis.
Old kasbah in M'Gouna
Just a bit further drops the road entirely to the river Dades. It is possible to see from here the old part of town M'Gouna, which is worth a visit in itself.
Ruins of M'Gouna
From the river on the hill are visible also another ancient ruins, so also in M'Gouna you can enjoy plenty of „explorations“.
Only 20 km away in Boumaine Dades turns the main N10 off to Dades gorge, your next destination.
