Beautiful view of the Aït Bouguemez valley

In the Aït Bouguemez valley you will find a number of interesting ruins. One of the most beautiful (at least in terms of views) is Agadir Sidi Chem above the village of Taselnant. The ruin is on an interesting hill, one side of which is wooded with an artificial forest. The other side above the valley is completely deserted. It is the ruin of a traditional Berber fortress known as an “agadir” – which is a fortified granary used to store grain and valuables of the entire community.
Starting point of the hike
The starting point of the hike is just outside the village of Taselnant. You can leave your car on the side of the road. A path through the forest leads directly to the top of the hill with the ruins.

Wooded half of the hill
The ruins can be seen right from the beginning of the trail. Don't be afraid of looking at the forest – the view from the top is truly amazing.

Amazing view of the hills above the valley
The path climbs almost perpendicular to the contour line through dense, artificially planted, irrigated forest. At one point, a view opens up to the east of hills rising directly from the oasis at the bottom of the valley.

Under the fortress
The summit itself is bare. The forest is basically on the northern slope. The fort itself is larger than it seems at first glance.

Ruins exploration
The ruin is several stories high and of course in a dilapidated state, so exploring it is of course somewhat risky and at your own discretion.
Back view
Looking back, you can see the village of Taselnant and a prominent gorge leading up to the peak of Jebel Tizzal (3,050m)

Beautiful views in all directions
The view is truly magnificent – the views are beautiful in all directions

Views to the east
The view to the east is the most famous in the entire valley, but it only gets there in the evening for it to have the right colors.
The way back is the same
