The road between the most famous places of the Moravian Karst
The most classic trip in the Moravian Karst is a visit to the Macocha and Punkve Caves. Part of this trip is also this approximately two kilometers long walk, which leads for a while through the picturesque Pustý žleb
Cottage Macocha
The easiest way to get to this area is a huge car park at the end of a narrow road just a short walk from the large Macocha hut. There is also a visitor center, souvenirs, etc ..
Viewpoint Upper bridge of the Macocha abyss
Right next to the cottage is the Horní Můstek viewpoint, from where you can see directly into the depths of the Macocha abyss
Viewpoint Lower bridge of the Macocha abyss
From the cottage Macocha a relatively long descent to the bottom of the gutter awaits us. It pays to take a small walk along the yellow to the lookout of the Lower Bridge of the Macocha Abyss – for me it was a surprisingly more interesting view than from the Upper Bridge
Descent into the gutter
The descent path is comfortable and nice. We come to the crossroads Pod Salmovkou, where we get to a wide cycle path leading to the bottom of the valley
The path through the empty gutter
The journey through the Desolate Gutter is really beautiful and romantic. All around limestone rocks and lush vegetation. The famous rock formation here is the Devil's Gate
Under the cable car
The path through the valley leads to the cable car station, with which we will return after the next part of the trip – a tour of the Punkve Caves
Massive limestone wall near the Punkva Cave
A massive limestone wall begins to rise in front of us – we are already near the entrance to the Punkva Cave
Way back by cable car
After a tour of the Punkva Caves and Macocha, the fastest way to return is by cable car – which is also a pretty good experience
