The Pravčická Gate is located in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and is the largest sandstone rock gate in Europe. Its height is 16 meters and is 26 meters wide. The Pravčická gate is very photogenic and some of the most beautiful photographs are taken here and in the vicinity. In the past, the trip to the Pravčická Gate was one of the first hiking trails in the Czech Republic and was covered by the Czech Tourist Club.

Starting point Mezní Louka

Our hiking trail starts in the village of Mezní Louka, where there are several parking lots, hotels and restaurants. We will also find an information center here. Expect paid parking.

Pines melting from the rocks

Also interesting are the ubiquitous pines, which often grow in places where you would not really expect it.

Return

From the Pravčická gate we can decide to go further towards the town of Hřensko and then then take a bus back to the starting point or return along the same way back to Mezní Louka. Another possible route is from Hřensko to take a boat trip towards Mezní Louka. But this is a longer route for the whole day.
