You can go to our largest table mountain – Děčínský Sněžník from several directions. The simplest is from the Sněžník-bus junction. After two kilometers of walking you are already on the lookout tower. Along the way, you can also enjoy incredible views of the peaks of the Bohemian Central Mountains.

Pod Sněžníkem

The starting point of this tour is the road crossroads Sněžník-bus (590 m above sea level). There is a large free parking lot and refreshments in the form of the hotel Hřebenová bouda. From here we climb up a narrow road up the hill.

Picturesque meadows

Before you go into the forest, you can enjoy the surrounding picturesque meadows.

Forest as from a fantasy movie

After less than a few interesting routes, the red hiking trail detaches from the road and enters a fantasy forest of twisted trees and stones overgrown with blueberries.

Final ascent to Table Mountain

The sidewalk is paved with stones in these places and leads directly under the sandstone towers. You will also be joined by a green hiking trail leading here from Jílové, which is a longer and more challenging ascent.

The edge of Table Mountain

After the hiking trail climbs the Table Mountain, it immediately heads to the lookout tower, which is a shame. Take the path as if back and enjoy the beautiful views from the rocky end of the mountain.

Early evening on Sněžník

This hike has a special charm in the early evening, when the sun ideally illuminates the surrounding hills.

Děčínský Sněžník is famous for its really beautiful views. In the foreground you can see hills such as Klobouk (502 m above sea level), Latarův vrch (510 m above sea level) and Chmelník (508 m above sea level)

Děčínský Sněžník lookout tower

The destination of most tourists is the beautiful lookout tower. Attention the last entry is possible until 16:45, then you are unlucky.

Pond on top

It is interesting that next to the lookout tower there is also a pond with water lilies.

Dresden prospect

From the lookout tower, take the road in the direction of Dresden Viewpoint. It is about a kilometer less lively path through the woods.

View of Saxon Switzerland

From the viewpoint there are beautiful views of the extensive forests from which rise a number of other table mountains on the Saxon side of the border.

Road under the rock towers

From the Dresden Viewpoint, the road leads under the rock towers. After a while you will come across a crossroads with a red hiking trail and then you will return along a familiar route. The whole circuit is only four kilometers, but definitely worth it.
