View over the city center
When you say Ústí nad Labem, everyone thinks more of chemical factories, housing estates covering local slopes or social problems often presented in the media. However, the vicinity of Ústí nad Labem really has a lot to offer tourists.
A chateau above the regional town
In fact, the most accessible lookout point from the center of Ústí nad Labem is Větruše. The most accessible is because, in addition to the marked path, you can also use the cable car, which starts right in the city center on the upper floor of the shopping center and you can get here by car. No matter how you get to Větruš, the reward will be a view of the regional town and part of the river Elbe, making its way between the hills of the Bohemian Central Mountains. There has been a chateau with a restaurant and a lookout tower on Vetruš for over 120 years, which, however, has been very rare once. It was closed and dilapidated for more than 20 years. Fortunately, it was saved and so it can further provide visitors with a view from the 30-meter tower or satisfy the thirsty and hungry. There is a natural maze nearby and also an execution site from 1543. And if that's not enough, you can continue along the green sign, for example, in the Vaňovské waterfall or the Vrkoč lookout.
