Rest with a beautiful view
If you frequently travel on the A1 motorway between Linz and Salzburg, the scenic foothills of the Alps and the northern edge of the Salzkammergut await you. If you need to refuel, eat or just stretch, the best place to stop is the pump directly at the viewpoint of Lake Mondsee, about halfway between exits 254 and 264. Count, but that it is a very busy place where a lot of hikers build.

Right next to the pump is the Landzeit Motor-Hotel Mondsee and below it a small meadow with benches and views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. On the horizon you can see the mighty peak of Schafberg, which leads to a beautiful hiking trail or the famous cogwheel

However, the most typical view from this vantage point is on the Drachenwand, to which the famous ferrata leads
Harbor and swimming pool
Just below the lookout there is a small harbor and swimming in the lake, so if you are not in a hurry and it is a nice summer day, it is definitely worth considering going there

There is also a small chapel with benches next to it, making another possible place for a snack
