Amazing view not only of the Bernina mountain range
From the town of Surlej, you can take the cable car to the viewpoint with the Corvatsch restaurant (3,303m). The Piz Corvatsch peak itself (3,451m) is two peaks further and the tourist route does not lead to it. Unlike other places that can be reached by cable car, it is not possible to walk from Corvatsch, so here you can only take for granted the beautiful observation deck and possibly the restaurant. Here you have two completely different views – one to the glacial world of the Bernina Mountains and the other to the beautiful lakes far below you in the Innu Valley
View of Piz Murtel (3,442m)
The nearest peak, which is almost at your fingertips, is Piz Murtel (3,442m). The Vadret dal Corvatsch glacier stretches directly from it. It is covered with rags near the cable car building so that it does not melt.
View of Piz Roseg (3935 m)
Across the valley you can see the amazing peak of Piz Roseg (3935 m). To the west of it is a lower but beautifully glaciated ridge with peaks around 3,500 meters above sea level.
View of Piz Bernina (4,048m)
Behind Piz Roseq you can see the jagged crown of the highest mountain of this mountain range – Piz Bernina (4,048m)
View of Piz Corvatsch
Piz Corvatsch itself can be seen from here as a small indistinct peak peeking behind Piz Murtel.
View of Lake Silvaplana
The view on the other side (to the north) is also amazing – below us lies the beautiful lake Silvaplana.
View up to the Maloja Pass
To the west lies another beautiful lake, the Silsersee. Beyond it is the small town of Maloja and the famous Maloja pass. Above all this is the headwaters of the Inn.
Innu Valley
The Inn thus begins its 517-kilometer long journey here before it flows into the Danube in Passau.
