City tour of Loket

If you are coming to Lokte by car from the D6 motorway, you should park in advance on the edge of Nádražní Street. Although you will have to walk a few hundred meters more, but you will not have to look for parking closer to the center. In addition, it's free here and after a while, an absolutely magnificent view of the castle opens up directly from Ohře.

There is also a view of the bridge over the Ohře River connecting the center of Loket with the road leading to Starý Sedlo. There is also a very beautiful view of the castle from the bridge.

To the north below the center is an important crossroads of both roads and hiking and biking trails. However, only five kilometers away is another great attraction – Svatošské rocks.

In front of us is the entrance to the center of Lokte and also the first important monument – the Black Tower.

There is free entry to the Black Tower. However, the outlook from it is relatively limited. Even so, it is worth a visit.

Turn into the church street and climb directly under the mighty Loket castle. Most visitors to the city do not miss his visit – in addition to the classic exhibits, there is also a nice view from the tower and a drastic torture chamber.

After a tour of the castle, descend the stairs to the square, which is full of beautiful exhibition merchant houses.

The square in Loket is really beautiful. The only thing that spoils it here are a lot of parked cars – as if they couldn't park outside the biggest center.

In the square you will find not only a large plague column, but also a fountain. Virtually the whole city is nicely renovated.

Afterwards, you are approaching the bridge over the Ohře from where there is a nice view of the second largest landmark of the city – the church of St. Wenceslas

From the bridge there are beautiful views of the castle and there are also the most tourists, but continue along the road and the panorama will be even better.

Fortunately, the road is not very busy and you will also find a gazebo. In addition, a footpath leads under you under the rocks, to which you can join the rocks and go down to the river Ohře.

After a tour of the city and a walk, you will definitely welcome sitting on a bench by the weir with a beautiful view of the city.

From the weir, continue along the river until you reach the footbridge. Here you will cross the river, ascend to the walls and complete the circuit through this beautiful city.
