Article Loket views

Today we will set out together to explore the three Loket views, from which we will have a completely unique view of the Loket castle, the church of St. Wenceslas Square, the walls, the bridge, to the part of the city that is located around the city walls.

We arrive by car from the direction of Sokolov. I recommend leaving the car right at the beginning of the P1 parking lot. It is located on the left side and is free of charge. From this place we walk on the road to Horní Slavkov about 300 meters. Along the way are amazing views of Loket Castle. After about 300 meters there is a parking lot marked on the maps as parking lot P2. You can park your car here, but I plan to describe the way back through the city. In this parking lot there is a gate to the forest. Please enter. After 100 meters we turn left over a wooden bridge and further along a path that is lined with railings. This railing will take us to the first and second prospect.

We will now descend. We proceed carefully along the forest road to the road we cross, descend the stone steps below the level of the road and go to the suspension bridge and cross the river Ohře. The suspension bridge over the river Ohří will swing with you in all directions. It is not for nothing that the locals call it a „swing“. And now up through the walls and city fortifications to the square. We walk through the square and take the road bridge from 1936 back to the point from which we set off. Happy journey.
