View of Hochkönig

Hochkeil is a hill opposite Hochkönig, from which there is a beautiful view of the entire massif. The ascent is not difficult and takes between 30 and 60 minutes. It can also be ideal for families with children, as you walk a wide path all the way.
Parking at Arthurhaus
The start of this short trip is ideal from the car park near the Arthurhaus. Parking is free and large enough to park the large number of cars that can be found here. The same place serves as the start of the Königsweg tour, which is very popular.

We can go
We get up the red hiking trail. However, it does not lead directly from the Arthurhaus, but we can get to it if we go directly under the ski slope or along the path „serpentines“ directly opposite the Arthurhaus.

The beginning of red
At the small wooden cottage is the beginning of the red route. The way up is clear and easily passable.

Pitch
At the beginning of June there were still remnants of snow, but the road was bare. The ascent is relatively slow all the time.

Top views
View to the southwest, where with good visibility we can see the Hohe Tauern with the highest peak in Austria – Großglockner.

Hochkönig
During a quick walk, after about 40 minutes and less than 300 meters, we reach the top with a magnificent view of the entire Hochkönig. The views of the hill are really beautiful.
