A historic town in the Slavkov Forest
Inside the Slavkov Forest you will find the beautiful historic town of Bečov nad Teplou, where you will find, among other things, a large castle with a palace and an adjacent Baroque chateau. For lovers of valuable monuments, there is also the famous reliquary of St. Maurus. After the coronation jewels, it is considered the second most important similar monument in the Czech Republic.

Directly on the rock, above the river Teplá stands the huge castle Bečov. You will probably find the largest car park on the other side of the river directly below the castle. From here, head to the bridge on the other side of the river, from where there is a beautiful view of both the castle and the palace and chateau.

The road climbs to the city fortifications and the views of the castle are very nice
May 5 Square
Along the castle bastion, which today serves as a restaurant, you ascend to the picturesque 5th of May Square. Clear city center.

From the square it is only a short walk to the castle gardens.

In addition, the garden has a great view of the castle, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy. If you are waiting for a tour, it is better to be here than to stand at the gate.

Becov nad Teplou
After a tour of the castle, if you are interested in the interiors, or the famous reliquary of St. Maura, take a short walk through the picturesque but small town center to the church of St. Jiří.
Church of St. George in Bečov
Church of St. Jiří is proud of his interesting interiors. The educational trail to Šibeniční vrch (629 m above sea level) – a former execution site – also begins from it. With this walk you can interestingly expand your visit to Bečov.

There is also a view of the castle directly from the river Teplá. The chosen place for the castle was really tactical. The rocks are really only for climbers.
