When you say Yucatan you can imagine thes wimming at unspoiled beaches and after that magnificent Mayan civilization and its preserved pyramids and temples.

The most outstanding tourist city in the Yucatan is Cancun. It's very busy, beachside mecca of Mexico, full of huge hotels and holidaymakers mainly from the US. Another busy and there are similar places in Isla Mujeres and Playa del Carmen. The largest city of the peninsula, however, Merida.

  • Izamal: interesting city with a huge atrium
  • Mania: Iglesia de San Miguel Acángel
  • Tekit: Franciscan church of San Antonio de Padua
  • Tecoh: Franciscan church Iglesia de Candelaria

Although it is not typical palaces, as we know from Europe, but the palace include colonial hacienda. Many of them were currently being converted into luxury hotels. Among the historical ruins include Yaxcopoil located just a short distance from Merida.

  • Chitzen Itza: The most famous Mayan ruins in Mexico with amazing Kukulcans´ pyramid. Every tourist visiting Yucatan wants to make a trip here. It boasts best retained remnants of temples, observatories and the largest field for a ball game in Mexico.
  • Coba: Mayan ruins lying around the group of lakes with one of the highest pyramids in Yucatan – Nohoch Mul, 42 meters high.
  • Tulum fort: Beautiful Mayan ruins of forts and harbor in one together with beautiful beaches around.
  • Ruta Puuc: Favorite, but quite tiring Yucatan day trip from Merida to five Mayan ruins: Labna (beautiful input arc), Xlapac (palace), Sayil (ruins of the Great Palace), Kabah (temple of masks) and Uxmal (Pyramid of the Magician).
  • Becan: Beautiful Mayan ruins in the middle of the Yucatan, where finds a way few tourists. Located just off the road connecting Chetumal to Villahermosa
