The most famous alpine road in the Sierra Nevada is the one that crosses the main ridge at the top of Veleta. However, you can only get to the Hoya de la Mora car park (2,510 m above sea level) by car. An ideal starting point for hikes. The passable but lesser-known and less high road A-337 leads over the main ridge from Laroles to La Calahorra via the Puerta de la Ragua (2,045 m above sea level)
