With its length of 430 kilometers, the Vltava River is the longest Czech river. It rises in the Bohemian Forest at an altitude of 1,172 meters above sea level under the name Černý potok. A massive Vltava cascade has been built on its stream, which has buried many interesting canyon sections. The most famous photos of this river come from Prague, where it is bridged by eighteen bridges. In Mělník he meets with Labem.
