Source of the Vltava River
The source of our longest Czech river
About 6 km south of the village of Kvilda, at the foot of Černá hora, is the source of the longest Czech river – the Vltava.
Right next to the hiking trail is a landscaped area with benches, from which a wooden observation path leads to a well with a spring.
Artificially created well
The place that visitors can admire is an artificially created spring in 1922. It is only a symbolic place. The real source of the Vltava is about 200 m away from it on the slope of Černá hora.
Easy accessibility
The path to the spring follows the blue tourist trail through the flat valley of the Černý potok stream and is easily manageable on foot, by bike, and in winter even on cross-country skis. The surface is asphalt, so you can get here with a stroller without any problems.

In addition to resting on several benches or taking shelter in a shelter, visitors can learn a lot of information about the river, which is an important national symbol for the Czechs.
